Associate Professor (Lt. Col.) Dr. A. K. M. Mizanur Rahman is a highly accomplished Endocrinologist and Internal Medicine Specialist with over 21 years of clinical, academic, military, and international healthcare experience. Renowned for his expertise in diabetes, thyroid, hormonal disorders, and internal medicine, he is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care with the highest standards of professionalism.
Dr. Rahman completed his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from the prestigious Notre Dame College, Dhaka, followed by his MBBS from Chattogram Medical College. He joined the Bangladesh Army Medical Corps in 2004 and successfully completed his Basic Military Training at the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) and Basic Professional Training at the Army Medical Corps Centre & School (AMCC&S).
His distinguished military medical career began as a Regimental Medical Officer (RMO) in Bandarban. He later served as a Medical Officer with the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Liberia (2007–2008), providing healthcare in challenging humanitarian settings. In 2010, he completed the Grading Course in Medicine from the Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI), Dhaka, and subsequently served as a Medicine Specialist at CMH Saidpur.
During 2015–2016, Dr. Rahman was again deployed as a United Nations Peacekeeping Medicine Specialist in Mali, where he provided advanced medical care in an international environment. He further enhanced his expertise by earning the Diploma in Endocrinology & Metabolism (DEM) from BIRDEM in 2021, after which he served as an Endocrinologist and Medicine Specialist at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. He is currently serving as an Endocrinologist and Medicine Specialist at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Sylhet.
Dr. Rahman specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, hormonal and endocrine diseases, obesity, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and a wide range of acute and chronic internal medicine conditions. His clinical approach combines accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, preventive care, and patient education to achieve the best long-term health outcomes.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Rahman is actively involved in medical education, academic research, and professional development.
