Associate Professor Dr. Ifthakhar Ahmed is a distinguished Newborn and Child Specialist with extensive experience in pediatric and neonatal healthcare. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based medical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, with a strong emphasis on early diagnosis, preventive medicine, and healthy child development. He earned his MBBS degree and pursued advanced training by obtaining an MD in Pediatrics from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), along with a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the University of Dhaka. His diverse academic qualifications reflect his commitment to excellence in both clinical practice and public health. Dr. Ahmed currently serves as the Associate Professor and Head of Unit, Faculty of Paediatrics, Institute of Child & Mother Health (ICMH), Matuail, Dhaka, where he plays a key role in patient care, medical education, academic leadership, and the training of future pediatricians. His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of newborn care, neonatal illnesses, childhood infections, respiratory diseases, nutritional disorders, growth and developmental concerns, vaccination, allergy, fever, gastrointestinal disorders, and a wide range of acute and chronic pediatric conditions. He is committed to delivering compassionate, family-centered care tailored to the unique needs of every child.
