Dr. Md. Latiful Bari Shakil is a highly qualified Colorectal, Breast, Hernia and Laparoscopic Surgeon with extensive academic training and advanced surgical expertise. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and is a 30th BCS (Health) Cadre Health Officer of the Government of Bangladesh. He completed his MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College in 2009 and obtained his MS in General Surgery from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) in 2020. He also holds FACS from the American College of Surgeons and MRCS qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England.
Dr. Bari has advanced training in Minimal Access Surgery, Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery, Laser Proctology, and Diagnostic & Interventional Endoscopy. His clinical expertise includes the surgical management of piles, fissure, fistula, colorectal and rectal cancers, breast diseases, hernia, gallstones, pancreatitis, upper gastrointestinal conditions, and various cancer surgeries.
His research interests include Breast Cancer Surgery, Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis, and modern surgical innovations, with publications in international journals. He has also received the NST Fellowship Award (2019) and Director General Award (2014) in recognition of his academic and professional achievements.
Currently, Dr. Bari is working and pursuing higher fellowship training in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Bangladesh Medical University. He also provides private consultation at Ship International Hospital and Lubana General and Cardiac Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka. His professional philosophy centers on “Safe Surgery Care,” with a strong commitment to precision, compassionate patient care, advanced laparoscopic techniques, and continuous surgical education.
