Dr. Md. Bahar Hossain is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Central Police Hospital, Dhaka. He completed his MBBS from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and earned his MD in Psychiatry from Bangladesh Medical University.
Dr. Bahar Hossain is committed to providing compassionate, confidential, and evidence-based mental healthcare. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, stress-related disorders, addiction, emotional and behavioral problems, and sexual health concerns. He is also experienced in counselling, psychotherapy, and sex therapy, offering personalized treatment tailored to each patient's needs.
His professional interests include Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Sexual Medicine, and Counselling & Psychotherapy. As a Member of the Bangladesh Association of Psychiatry (BAP), he remains actively involved in professional development and evidence-based psychiatric practice.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bahar Hossain has contributed to psychiatric research. His research article, "Quality of Life Among Men with Premature Ejaculation in a Tertiary Care Hospital in Bangladesh," was published in the Journal of Psychosexual Health in 2025.
