Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain is a Gastro-Liver, Pancreas and Medicine Specialist with 10 years of experience in Liver and Gastroenterology diseases. He is an MBBS and BCS (Health) graduate, completed MD in Gastroenterology from Dhaka, and holds FACP (USA). He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG/ACG, USA) and has received training in Interventional Endoscopy at AIG Hospital, Hyderabad, India, and ERCP training in Mumbai, India.
Since 2017, he has been regularly performing advanced interventional gastroenterology procedures in northern Bangladesh, including stenting for patients with cancers of the throat, intestine and bile duct, ERCP and other advanced interventions. He has more than 50 publications in national and international journals, is a registered researcher of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and has presented research papers at 15 international seminars. He received Presidential Awards from the American College of Gastroenterology for creative research in 2024 and 2025.
