Dr. Utpaul Kumar Sarkar is a highly experienced ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat), Head & Neck Specialist and Surgeon with extensive expertise in the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of diseases affecting the ear, nose, throat, thyroid, and head-neck region. He is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care using advanced diagnostic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
After earning his MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC), Dr. Sarkar joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Health) and later obtained the prestigious FCPS in ENT & Head–Neck Surgery. To further strengthen his expertise, he completed advanced international training in Microear Surgery, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS), and Endoscopic Thyroid Surgery in India and Thailand. He also received higher training in Head & Neck and Thyroid Cancer Surgery from NSH, India.
Dr. Sarkar currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT & Head–Neck Surgery at Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital, Dhaka, where he is actively involved in patient care, undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, surgical training, and academic research.
His areas of special expertise include microscopic ear surgery (Microear Surgery), Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS), endoscopic thyroid surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, thyroid disorders, hearing loss, chronic ear infections, sinus diseases, nasal polyps, allergic rhinitis, voice disorders, tonsil and adenoid diseases, snoring and sleep-related airway disorders, and comprehensive ENT care for both adults and children.
