Dr. Zinat Sultana Sharmin is a dedicated Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Nutrition Specialist with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience in the care of newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal, liver, nutritional, and related pediatric disorders, providing evidence-based and compassionate care tailored to the needs of every child.
Dr. Zinat completed her MBBS from Sylhet Osmani Medical College (SOMC) in 2008. Following graduation, she underwent two years of postgraduate clinical training in Pediatrics in Dhaka, strengthening her foundation in comprehensive child healthcare. She subsequently worked as a Clinical Fellow at icddr,b, Dhaka, gaining valuable experience in pediatric medicine, child nutrition, and clinical research.
She joined the Government Health Service in 2014 and continued her academic and clinical development in pediatrics. Dr. Zinat later completed her MD in Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Following her postgraduate degree, she served as a Registrar in Pediatrics and subsequently progressed to her current academic position as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Dr. Zinat Sultana Sharmin is the 1st practicing Pediatric Gastroenterologist in Chittagong who provided treatment regarding all sort of Pediatric Gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional problems & created awareness among parents in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition.
Dr. Zinat specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver, nutritional, and digestive system disorders. Her areas of clinical expertise include chronic abdominal pain, recurrent vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, feeding difficulties, malnutrition, failure to thrive, food allergies and intolerances, gastroesophageal reflux, childhood liver diseases, jaundice, hepatitis, inflammatory and other digestive disorders. She also provides specialized care for neonatal and infant feeding and nutritional problems.
With her combined experience in clinical medicine, pediatric gastroenterology, nutrition, and academic healthcare, Dr. Zinat takes a comprehensive approach to every patient.
