Dr. Mohammad Niamul Islam is a distinguished general and colorectal surgeon with extensive experience in both academic and clinical practice. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka, and is a government medical officer under the 24th BCS Health Cadre. A graduate of Dhaka Medical College, Dr. Niamul Islam has earned prestigious qualifications including FCPS (Surgery), MRCS (Edinburgh & England), FACS (USA), and advanced colorectal fellowships from India. With over two decades of experience, he specializes in laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia repair, appendectomy, and the treatment of colorectal conditions such as piles, fissures, and fistulas. • Dr. Mohammad Niamul Islam is a highly experienced surgeon with more than two decades of clinical, academic, and government healthcare service experience in Bangladesh. Throughout his career, he has served in several prestigious medical institutions, contributing significantly to patient care, surgical training, and medical education.
• He is currently serving as Associate Professor of Surgery at Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka (2025–Present). Prior to this, he worked as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the same institution (2024–2025).
• From 2019 to 2024, Dr. Niamul Islam served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College, where he played an important role in surgical education and clinical services.
• Earlier, he worked as a Junior Consultant (Surgery) at Upazila Health Complex, Kuliarchar, Kishoreganj from 2012 to 2019, providing comprehensive surgical care to patients and managing a wide range of general and emergency surgical cases.
