Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Momen (Rtd) is a highly experienced General Surgeon and dedicated medical teacher with about 30 years of experience in surgery. He completed his MBBS from Sylhet Medical College in 1983 and FCPS (Surgery) from BCPS in 2003.
He began his government service as an Assistant Surgeon in 1983 and served in various capacities including Assistant Registrar, Registrar, Resident Surgeon, Consultant, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. He served as Professor & Head of the Department of Surgery at Rajshahi Medical College and also served as Professor & Head of the Department of Surgery at Dhaka Community Medical College.
He has around 12 years of experience as Head of the Department of Surgery in government and private medical colleges. He has served as an examiner and convener for undergraduate and postgraduate Surgery examinations under Rajshahi and Dhaka University and as an examiner of the PhD programme of Rajshahi University. He is also an author and co-author of 14 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has presented papers at national and international surgical conferences. He has received higher postgraduate training in Minimal Access Surgery abroad.
