Professor Dr. Md. Kamrul Ahsan is a distinguished Pediatrician, Neonatologist, and Medical Educationist with over 30 years of clinical, academic, and research experience. He graduated from Sir Salimullah Medical College in 1996 and joined government service through the 20th BCS (Health) cadre.
He obtained his MD in Pediatrics from the University of Dhaka in 2009, MD in Neonatology from Bangladesh Medical University (formerly BSMMU) in 2015, and MMEd from BSMMU in 2023. He also holds the MACP (USA) credential, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and continuing medical education.
Throughout his government service career, Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan has served in several renowned healthcare institutions, including Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh Medical University, Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH), Gopalganj Medical College, and Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College. He has also provided healthcare services at various Upazila Health Complexes across Bangladesh.
Currently, he is serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Neonatology at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogura, while providing specialized consultation at Nagorik Specialized Hospital, Dhaka.
A prolific researcher, Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan has authored and co-authored 64 scientific publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. His areas of expertise include newborn and neonatal care, premature baby management, pediatric diseases, child growth and development, and advanced neonatal healthcare.
He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and family-centered care for newborns, infants, and children, ensuring the best possible outcomes for every child under his care.
